Based on a true story, The Lone Witness: Searching for Harold Francis is about the real life search for a man who left his house in hopes of snaring some rabbits and never returned. He was expected home by nighfall but he failed to return.
Harold Francis of Clarke’s Head, Gander Bay, went missing on October 27, 1964. Intensive searching by the people of his and neighbouring communities, as well as RCAF Search and Rescue from the airport town of Gander, resulted in no signs of Harold. He seemed to have simply disappeared off the face of the earth.
Author Hector Earle invites readers to come with him and for their own conclusions in a mystery that has haunted a family for well over fifty years.
