About DRC Publishing
Learn about us: our history, philosophy and more! Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple. We love books and writers and our market is the world of readers!
Our Story
DRC Publishing is owned and operated by Peter Stacey. We are based in St.John’s and we started in 1998 when we published our first book “Historic Homes of Newfoundland.” We publish fiction and non-fiction for adults and children and are interested in all types of writing. Manuscripts are welcome.
In addition to the new books we publish, we are proud to have reissued such historic treasures as Captain Cartwright and his Labrador Journal as edited by Charles Wendell Townsend, and Trenching At Gallipoli, John Gallishaw’s compelling account of serving in Gallipoli during WW1. Cartwright’s wonderfully comprehensive three volume diary entitled Journal of Transactions and Events During a Residency of Nearly Sixteen Years on the Coast of Labrador was first published in 1792, six years after he left the coast. Trenching at Gallipoli: A Newfoundland Soldier’s Story of the First World War was first published in 1916. Captain Cartwright and his Labrador Journal and Trenching At Gallipoli are both for sale on our website.
We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Canada Book Fund (CBF) for our publishing activities.
